Ingrown toenails happen mostly due to bad fitting shoes or having to wear shoes a lot. My husband gets them %26amp; the best thing to do for them is to soak your feet in as hot of water as you can stand for at least 20-30 mins. several times per day. Soaking them will help to soften the skin %26amp; nailbed and allow them to be more flexible. If you can, gently pry the edges of the nail up and place small swabs of cotton under them to relieve the pressure. Also, if there are any fluid or pus filled sacs, you will be better able to drain them after a good soaking. If you do have to drain any fluid or pus, be sure to apply some antibiotic ointment to the affected area afterwards to prevent further infection. Try to avoid wearing shoes for as long as possible after soaking your feet or at least wear loose, comfortable ones like sandals. Avoid wearing tight socks or shoes %26amp; be sure NOT to trim your toenails in a curved shape, but rather straight across to avoid having the edges grow inward in the future. Over time, this regular routine will help to prevent ingrown toenail growth %26amp; pain.
i have had them forever the only way to get rid of them is to get it took out or dig them out the v cut in your nail dosnt work it just hurts like hell if u dont do anything it will get infected and u will have to go to the doctors your best bet is to soak it in hot water or take a long hot bath and try to dig it out but if i were u i would go get it fixed if not yall have it the rest of ur life you will have to dig it out every 2 to 3 weeks
