Why does sand ruin fresh toenail polish?

It has been my experience that after I get my toenails (professionally) polished and go to a sandy beach destination, the sand seems to dull the polish almost instantly.

Does this happen to anyone else? Any advice? :( Pedicures are expensive! Why does sand ruin fresh toenail polish?
well it takes 24 hours to COMPLETELY dry. this means even though ur nailpolish is dry, it hasn't set long enough on ur nails.

also, sand is used to make sandpaper, which WEARS stuff away. so that's actually the main reason. Why does sand ruin fresh toenail polish?
The gritty sand scratches off the polish. You can touch up your pedicure after going to the beach by brushing on a clear coat of polish to shine them back up.
basically dont bother getting it done cos the sand will always wear off the polish itll be a waste of money.
because sand is very abrasive, if you notice the bottoms of your feet will feel smoother after a barefoot walk in the sand. my advice would be to go natural.
You are literally sanding off the shiny part off. lol.
Um.. ever heard of SANDPAPER? Sand is an abrasive. It's supposed to do that.

To avoid having your fresh polish sanded off, avoid going to the beach with a fresh pedicure. Give your nails a day or two to dry completely before you hit the beach.
they use sand to take the paint off of cars and bridges and stuff like that. try staying out of sand if you are going to pay someone to paint your toes.
